Singapore: I miss you.....

Having two all BEEF (not chicken, not mutton, not cauliflower) patties, special sauce, lettuce, pickle and cheese again was divine. Eating a BigMac was like a night out at Mortons or Boi Na Braza back in Cincy. When I flew back to Delhi I stopped at a McD's in the airport, looked at the menu, had a chicken sandwich and shed a single, solitary tear in memory of the BigMac.

Beef, check. Beer, check. And not just any beer, Chimay Blue; my favorite.

I found the Chimay Blue in Chinatown which was odd being that it is a Belgian beer, but not as odd as the retailer selling the Chimay in Chinatown....

Tin Tin is a French comic and I was really confused why a French comic shop, would be selling a Belgian beer, in Chinatown in Singapore. Regardless I was very thankful to find this little gem amongst all the kimonos, lucky waving cats and knockoff cologne.

Another nice beer I "stumbled" upon was any beer after a night of the warehouse move :-) I often would get out of the warehouse and have the LPN still stuck to me and it made an excellent "coozie" for the San Miguel.

Prior to going to SPDC to assist with the facility move I took two days R&R on Sentosa Island in a room with a view. It was an awesome resort with a private deck and jacuzzi on the roof of the suite. Right next to the ocean and plenty close to beef, beer and 7-11 convenience stores (which I would have never in the world guessed I would miss) was a perfect locale for some relaxation.

I was surprised to find lizards MUCH larger than the little Kevin lizards we find here in India.

I was really proud of myself for not getting on Notes for 2 days, but by Monday evening curiousity got the best of me and I cracked!

Kolkata Dealer Road Show

Friday was our final Road Show presenting the upcoming changes and improvements that have been made for the PDC. We had a special guest join us via satellite.... Actually this Roger moment was from the RP youtube video that discusses the WMS go-live at the EDC. I like to play this video with the dealers to give them an idea what WMS is and how our other CGL sites look.

Kolkata is an extremely poverty stricken part of the country and it was one of the more depressing areas of India I have visited. Below you can see a group of men bathing in a small pond.

Kolkata was also one of the only times I have given money to beggars. The types of deformities and illness that were plaguing the beggars was unreal. Apparently leprosy still exists in this part of the country.

On a happier note, I did see plenty of my favorite car here in Kolkata; the Hindustan Ambassador. I also found a really cool, classic Fiat for sale for under $1,000, but have no idea how I would get the car back to Pune! I guess I will have to keep my eyes open locally for a Fiat or Ambassador so once I get my license I can tear up the streets of Phaltan in style.
